Global Vision International (GVI)

Program Description

Global Vision International (GVI) was formed in 1998 to provide support and services to international charities, non-profits and governmental agencies, through volunteering opportunities, internship programs, training and direct funding.

GVI is guided by a unique commitment to its participants and to its partners. To the participant it offers safe, responsible travel experiences, exceptional training and career development opportunities, and facilitates the ability to make a real difference. To its partners it commits all project ownership rights and all work is undertaken fully under their direction, in conjunction with the local community.

We have programs in wildlife and marine conservation, community work, teaching, orphanage, climate change, rainforest, and construction projects.

Commitment & Duration

We have volunteer opportunities with GVI and our partners from one week up to 2 years for example

Who we look for

At GVI we look for volunteers’ who are really keen to make a difference and have the passion and drive to do this. Most of our volunteers’ don’t need specialised skills but some of our projects such as marine conservation might require volunteers’ to have diving qualifications.

Application Details

Just go to our website www.gviaustralia.com, choose the program and then apply online. Someone will then arrange to talk to you about the program you applied for and whether you are suitable.

We have a variety of different projects and all include accommodation, food, training, safety, 24 hour emergency help line and much more. We are 100% supported by volunteer contributions so without you a number of community projects, research projects, and environmental projects would not be able to run.

Testimonials

“I feel truly blessed to have worked with the children’s centre and the people involved. Words simply cannot describe how appreciated your time and energy are in a project where the children and staff have so little to work with, but are making such positive strides. A life changing experience for any volunteer and the children receiving your help.”

Tessa Doogue – Mombassa Orphanage Kenya

“I’m privileged to have been a part of this expedition and to have contributed in some small way to the conservation of this remarkable environment and the future of its inhabitants. It’s provided a unique insight and an unforgettable experience.”

Dominic Greaves, volunteer – Costa Rica
