ECNA Corporate Social Awareness Function
For Leaders of Today and Tomorrow…
Thursday, 3 September 2009
The ECNA Corporate Social Awareness Function allows corporations and their members to gain a more thorough insight into corporate social responsibility, whilst offering an opportunity to collaborate with not-for-profit and youth-run organisations to initiate community projects. The function offers a invaluable opportunity to connect with students and organisations eager to collaboratively play a positive role in society.
Our objectives for the evening are to:
- Explain why corporations have a responsibility to their local and global communities
- Increase exposure to social initiatives currently being undertaken by corporations, not-for-profit organisations and youth-run bodies
- Inspire corporations to become philanthropic, not only through financial means, but also through active participation in community projects
- Encourage corporations to set and achieve goals related to improving the wider community
- Educate corporations of the financial benefits community involvement have on shareholder value of a firm.
At ECNA, we believe that it is the responsibility of organisations to use their strengths to make a difference in the wider community. Fulfilling social responsibility not only makes a positive impact on the disadvantaged communities, but also greatly benefits corporations with their operations, profitability and reputation.
Speakers include:
- Nick Miller (Clayton Utz – Partner in Corporate Advisory, Chairman of Experimenta Media Arts Inc.)
- Colin Carter (The Boston Consulting Group – Founding Partner and Senior Advisor, Director of Wesfarmers, Seek Limited, World Vision, and Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships)
